View CAD, Images, and More

Vismo lets you view a wide range of files directly within your browser - no extra software needed. From CAD drawings to images, you can open, explore, and comment on files anywhere, without having to download them.

Vismo allows you to view CAD files directly within your browser. You can open, navigate, and comment on them just like any other file.

Step 1: Navigate to the file

Go to Project Files in your project and click on the CAD file you want to view.

Step 2: Click "View File"

CAD files need to be processed before they can be viewed. You’ll have three options:

1. View 2D CAD: Processes each layout in 2D. This is the quickest option.

2. View 2D CAD Tiles: Provides higher-quality rendering, but takes a little longer to process.

3. View 3D CAD: If your CAD file is 3D, you can process it in 3D. Note: 3D CAD support is still in development, so some elements may not display perfectly.

You’ll see a progress message while the file is being prepared, and it will be available to open once ready. If your DWG contains multiple layouts, these will be available to select within the viewer.

Note: You can still download the original CAD file at any time. Processing for browser viewing does not affect the file itself.

Step 1: Navigate to the file

Click on the file name via Project Files in the Project

In the File Preview screen, you can see file metadata - like who created it, when it was last edited and who has permission to to edit and view it.

Step 2: Click "View File"

Clicking "View File" will open the viewer.

Whether you're viewing a DWG, image, or another supported file type, Vismo's viewer includes tools to help you navigate and collaborate effectively:

• 🔄 Switch between 2D and 3D views
• 👆 Select different layouts using the dropdown in the top-right corner (DWG files)
• 🔍 Zoom in and out for detailed viewing
• 🌌 Change background colour to suit your viewing preference
• 💬 Comment directly on files to highlight issues or provide feedback
• 📐 Measure distances between points
• ⬆️ Go full screen for maximum clarity

Note: On the free tier, there may be a max preview file size limit of 100MB for PDFs and Images. Video max preview file size is unlimited. Please speak to us should you need to change this restriction.
