View CAD, Images, and More

Vismo lets you view a wide range of files directly within your browser - no extra software needed. From CAD drawings to images, you can open, explore, and comment on files anywhere, without having to download them.

Viewing CAD Files (DWG/DXF)

Vismo allows you to view CAD files directly within your browser. You can open, navigate, and comment on them just like any other file.

How to View CAD Files

Step 1: Navigate to the file

Go to Project Files in your project and click on the CAD file you want to view.

Step 2: Process the drawing

CAD files need to be processed before they can be viewed. Click View File to use the recommended option, or click Process for viewing to choose what Vismo creates:

• 2D drawing (standard): a flat, single image of the drawing. This is the quickest option.
• 2D drawing (highest detail) or (high detail), when offered: a zoomable drawing that stays sharp at any zoom level. Takes a little longer.
• 2D drawing (zoomable): a zoomable 2D drawing.
• 2D drawing with sheets: Model space plus every paper-space sheet. Takes longer, because each sheet is processed on its own.
• 3D CAD: an interactive 3D model built from the CAD geometry, if your drawing is 3D.

Vismo marks the option it recommends for your file. Choose one, then click Start processing.

You’ll see a progress message while the file is being prepared, and it will be available to open once ready. If you processed the sheets, you can choose between them in the viewer.

Note: You can still download the original CAD file at any time. Processing for browser viewing does not change the file itself.

How to View a File/Image

Step 1: Navigate to the file

Click on the file in Project Files to open its preview.

On the file’s page, you can see its details - like who created it, when it was last edited, and who has permission to edit and view it.

Step 2: Click "View File"

Clicking View File opens the viewer.

Supported 2D File Types

Note: Most images can be opened in the viewer up to 100MB. Larger TIFF and ECW images are turned into a zoomable image instead.
