View 3D Models, LAS, BIM, IFC and More

Exploring your 3D data in Vismo is simple and accessible to all! Our viewer works the same way for both 2D and 3D files, making it easy to switch between views and combine different types of data in one place.

Supported 3D File Types

• 3D Models: OBJ, GLB, GLTF
• Point Clouds: LAS, LAZ and E57
• BIM: IFC
• 3D Tiles: 3D data formats (e.g. B3DM, PNTS, GLTF), uploaded as a ZIP

How to View Point Clouds

Point clouds can get big. Vismo processes LAS, LAZ and E57 files into 3D Tiles for efficient viewing in your browser.

Step 1: Open your file in Project Files and click the View File button (it shows a magic wand 🪄 when the file needs processing first). You can also click Process for viewing to choose what to create.

Step 2: The progress is shown on the file, and you can also follow it in the Uploads, Zips & Conversions panel. Vismo emails you when processing is complete.

How to View 3D Tiles

Vismo supports 3D Tiles. To view them:

• Zip up the tileset. The root of the ZIP should contain a tileset.json file.
• Upload the ZIP file.
• Click the View File (magic wand) button to start processing.
• The progress is shown, and Vismo emails you once processing is complete.

How to View 3D Models

Viewing 3D models (for example, OBJ files from photogrammetry output) is supported. GLB files open straight in the viewer; OBJ files are processed first to ensure smooth performance.

Step 2: The progress is shown, and Vismo emails you once processing is complete.
